No Junior League Games in School Holidays

Today, the 30th of June, 2018, is the last game before a three week break for school holidays. There will be no games on July 7, 14 and 21. We hope you have a happy and safe holiday.

Dear Majura Football Club Community,

Well how time flies as we find ourselves this Saturday just over half way through the Junior League competition season.

Each Saturday for me brings the joys of our junior and senior competitions, the cheer of the spectators, the sounds of the coaches directing the teams and the smiles of the players faces when they know they’ve played a great game and had a great time. So, coupled with the World Cup – I think this is a close as it gets to football nirvana. Just amazing.

At this stage, I usually thank all the volunteers for their work and assistance over the season thus far. I am not going to break from that tradition as you all are worth your weight in gold and are highly valued by your Club. Thank you for everything you do, the Club could not run as smoothly as it does without you.

I want to congratulate one part of the Club that has had a lot of fantastic feedback this season and that is the Game Leaders (our Miniroos referees). Game Leaders take on a Club junior leadership role and I’m very proud of the fact that Majura FC can create a safe environment for the Game Leaders to ply their trade each Saturday. What I am also proud of is that a good majority of the Game Leaders go on to complete their Level 4 Referees course and look to increasing their knowledge of the game, which again improves a players game. I hope you will join me in thanking the Game Leaders. Keep up the great work!

So, this Saturday brings us to a three week break and we return to compete in the second half of the season on 28 July 2018.

For all those teams that are playing in the Kanga Cup, the Club wishes you all the best in the competition.

On behalf of the Majura FC Committee, have a safe break and we look forward to seeing you all in the second half of the junior football season.

Peter Docherty
President Majura FC
