Welcome to Season 2019

Hello Majura Football Family,

It’s been a busy few weeks at Majura FC. To start I would like to thank everyone who came to the AGM and who put their hand up to volunteer and help make our club the best in town. We welcomed new people and had some people move into new roles within our committee. To all committee members and age group coordinators, thank you and I look forward to working with you this season. If you are thinking about volunteering it’s not too late, we still have a number of roles to fill including the Equipment Officer as David Horner has stepped into the Vice President role.

I am starting out in my first season as President of Majura FC. I want to acknowledge the hard work Peter Docherty put in as President for the past three seasons. Peter was committed to the continuous improvement of our club and he worked diligently week in and week out to ensure that players, family members and friends had a good experience at Majura FC. Thank you, Peter, you left some big shoes to fill.

I also want to thank Rainer Reuss for his work as Vice President for the past several seasons. Rainer is moving to a new role as the club’s Coach Coordinator so look out for him on the pitch and please take advantage of his football knowledge. Thanks to all players who came to trial, I hope you enjoyed your experience even though we had some wild weather at times!

There are a couple of upcoming dates to keep in mind including our annual equipment working bee. Please come along and help assemble training kits, even if you can just come for 30 minutes, every little bit helps. Coaches and managers meetings are coming up and a Miniroos coaching course. Some dates/times have changed but all the details are in this newsletter so read on.

I just love this time of the year. It is a time of possibility as we get ready for another season of football. I look forward to seeing you out there!

Cheers,
Kurt Petrunia
President, Majura FC
