Miniroos have kicked off so what’s next?

Hello Majura Football Families,
Just a quick note to say how absolutely wonderful it is to be back on the pitch seeing our kids playing football again. A part of our world is somewhat back to normal. Having said that I want to thank everyone who came to the fields last Saturday for maintaining social distancing and putting up with our new method of queueing for the bbq and canteen (no matter how long you line up, Rhonda’s food is always worth it!)
We are back again on Saturday with our U5-U9 Miniroos. If you see our club captains David and Charlotte walking around stop them and kick the ball around. We are still planning on a July 18 start for all age groups from U10 up to our Senior teams. They are all out training and very keen to get some game time.
Just a friendly reminder to all of our spectators in the interest of safety, can you please watch the game at least a couple of paces off of the sideline. I saw some eager spectators last weekend right up on the sideline and some even spilling onto the pitch. I appreciate the enthusiasm but I would hate to see a player hurt themselves running into an spectator who was standing where they shouldn’t be.

President, Majura FC

When do all Junior and Senior Games Start?

Planning is underway for all our U10-U11 Miniroos, U12-U18 Junior league teams and all Senior teams, to start their competition games on Saturday July 18. Please make sure your team is ready to go by that date. If you didn’t complete registration before shut down you will be able to do so next week. The Majura Registrar will email you with details. We’ll also have more details about reduced fees and refunds out next week.

Want to be a Game Leader?

Capital Football will be running three Game Leader courses over the next two weeks. The two rescheduled courses from March will be held this weekend, with a brand new course open for registrations taking place on Sunday 12 July. The details are as follows:

  • Saturday 4 July, 12pm – 2pm, Hawker Football Centre
  • Sunday 5 July, 12.30pm – 2.30pm, Hawker Football Centre
  • Sunday 12 July, 12.30pm – 2.30pm, Hawker Football Centre (NEW)

We will be taking up to 60 people for the Game Leader course on Sunday 12 July. This is a great opportunity for children 13 years and over to complete half a season of refereeing to potentially undertake the Level 4 Referee course before the start of the 2021 season. The registration link for this course is here.
