Ready for kick-off this weekend

Majura Team Numbers and Names

Hello Majura FC Family

I want to let you know that we remain cautiously optimistic that we will play football across all age groups this season and your club is working hard to prepare for a full schedule of games for this weekend.

The junior and senior draws have been posted to SportsTG. I acknowledge that the draw is confusing and looking at the number of emails the club is receiving, some of you have questions about the draw as well – what do the team colours and team numbers mean. We will sort it out with Capital Football and send out a clarifying message before this weekend (on behalf of Jo, please refrain from sending emails about the draw until we find out more).

Some of you still need to register to play. Please do so no later than midnight tonight otherwise you are not eligible to play this weekend. Capital Football have a new system with the match sheets and they are completed electronically, listing only registered players on the sheet.
For those of you seeking a partial refund you will need to submit your application to Capital Football by this Sunday at the latest as this is the final cut-off day to apply. Details can be found on Capital Football’s website here.

The ACT Government will review the pause on level 3 restrictions and community sports this Thursday and make a decision on whether inter-club games can be played. If the government eases restrictions then junior and senior games will proceed as per the draw. If the government decides to continue the current restrictions then Majura FC will organise intra-club practice games between our teams at Dickson fields. We will draw up a fixture and teams will play on Saturday (junior and senior men) or Sunday (senior women). Either way be prepared to play this weekend!
Lastly, last Saturday Majura FC held a games day for our U8 to U11 players (those who were still in town and available to play). A huge thank you goes out to everyone involved. To the players and families, thank you for coming out and having a good time and playing football. To all those involved in setting up, packing down, canteen and general running around – thank you. And to Marcus Hassall for organising the morning, job well done Marcus, thank you!

See you around the grounds.

Cheers,
Kurt
President, Majura FC
