Hello Majura Football Families,
I hope this message finds you well and eager for some football. As COVID restrictions lift we are playing football again. It is great to see teams return to training at Dickson and it won’t be long before games kick off again.
Majura U5-U9 pee wees and miniroos will return to play on Saturday 27 June – YES, this Saturday. While our U10 – U18 and Senior teams return to play on 18-19 July. Current restrictions allow for teams within the same club to play while the restrictions for inter club play will be eased by mid-July. We’ll be sending out more detail including game times (they aren’t the same as last season) and draws over the next few days.
When you return to the field please keep in mind that hygiene and social distancing measures still apply. On Saturday’s the queues for our canteen and BBQ will be marked out by rope and entry/exit signs. The canteen will have two order windows and one pick up window. Just a reminder that we currently have cash only at the canteen and BBQ but we are exploring card payment options.
Enough about COVID, here is some more good news. I am pleased to announce that we hired Angelos Zaris as our Technical Director (TD). Angelos will guide our coach and player development and help set the technical direction of the club. You may have already met him as he has been to lots of training sessions over the past week.
I am pleased to announce Charlotte Dunn and David Wilson as this seasons club captains.Charlotte and David are two of our pee wee superheroes and both play with the club. Say hi to them when you see them around on Saturdays and they will always be willing to kick the ball around with you.
