2026 teams, competitions and programs
Majura has teams in many age groups and different competitions. Below is a summary of what teams, programs and competitions, are on offer at the club in 2026.
Pee Wees (U4-U6), MiniRoos (U6-U11) and Junior League (U12-U18)
- Pee Wees is the club’s program for first time players from 4-6 years. Pee Wees are not graded and do not play in formal teams. They play at Dickson Fields every Saturday of the winter season.
- U6 – U9 Miniroo teams are not graded but they do play in formal teams. They play at Dickson Fields every Saturday of the winter season.
- From U10 the competitions are inter-club run by Capital Football. Teams play clubs in the Canberra region and are required to travel to other grounds (sometimes including Cooma, Yass, Goulburn, or Braidwood). Players in U10-18 can attend grading if they want to be in Division 1 or 2 teams. Majura has social teams in Divisions 3-5 for players wanting to participate in a less competitive environment and not wanting to trial. Players aspiring to play in U10 – U18 Division 1 and 2 are invited to attend trials (dates below).
Emerging Player Program
Majura’s performance program for U9 – U13 players is selective. Trials for our Emerging teams in Division 1 and SAP competitions were finalised in 2025 as part of the club’s Emerging Player Program and players have been notified of their selection. If you require further information about the program, please check the information on our website Emerging Program.

Walking Football

Age groups and registration fees for 2026
Majura FC recommends that all players play in their own age group. Players can play up a maximum of two years under junior league competition rules. Girls playing in an Open team may play down one age group without exemption. Other requests to play down an age group will need to be approved by MFC (U6-U9) or via an official exemption from Capital Football (U10-U18).
Peewees is our beginner program for players aged 4-6. Children born after 2022 cannot be registered. Our younger girls’ teams are combined age groups U6/7 and U8/9. Girls are eligible to play in all open teams however boys are not permitted to play in girls’ teams.
If you wish to play in an age group and the registration system does not allow it, then please contact registrar@majurafc.org.au for further advice about what’s possible.

Pee Wees (u4-6) beginners program
If this is your first year at Majura FC, then chances are you have a Pee Wee and do not know what happens. The Pee Wee Coordinator will send you more information once you register but briefly Pee Wees should be at the Dickson fields by 8.30am and your session will end by 9.30am. There are no formal teams so each week players will be sorted into groups by our Superheroes and go to their field with a game leader. The game leaders will run small-sided games and skills sessions.
U6 players (born in 2020) can play in either Pee Wees or the U6 – U7 competitions. The U6 and U7 competition players are allocated to a team for the season and play against other Majura teams. If your child has not previously played football, we encourage your child to participate in the Pee Wee program which has a stronger focus on skills development and gaining confidence. Please contact the club on info@majurafc.org.au if you would like to discuss which option is best for your child.
Training
Training times will vary for each team and will usually be determined by coach and player availability. Dickson Playing Fields are the clubs main training grounds and are booked every night of the week (unavailable during field maintenance shutdowns. March 17-31). Training sessions need to be booked in due to the high demand for fields. There are two time slots available; 4.30-6.30pm and 6.30pm-8.30pm. Each team is allocated half a field for training (quarter fields for U6-U9), and bookings are made on a first come first served basis. Some teams train after school at school ovals and some prefer to train before their game at Dickson on Saturday mornings. Training bookings can be made at the coaches and managers meetings on Monday 30 March.
Uniforms
The Majura club colours are white and royal blue. Every player needs to wear royal blue shorts, white socks, and shin pads. These are available from our online shop MAJURA FC CLUB HUB | This Is Football AU or from the club shop at the clubhouse on game days. The week prior to the season we also open our shop for uniform sales. Opening times will be advertised on the website and in newsletters.
All Pee Wees receive a Majura shirt to keep when they pay their registration fee. They will need to wear this shirt to games so that we know they are a 2026 Pee Wee. In the U6 – U9 age groups Majura provides each team with a set of playing shirts for the season. We ask that they only be worn at the games and not at training. To keep fees down we budget on playing shirts lasting four years, so these shirts need to be returned at the end of the season. All U10 – U18 players will receive their own shirt to keep. The cost of this has been subsidised by The Tradies Dickson who have provided financial support for the club for 2026.
Helping out at Majura FC
Majura FC is a community club run largely by volunteers. The club is you, every player, parent, and supporter. We ask everyone to do a little bit to help. Majura FC can keep registration fees low by supplementing fees with proceeds from the canteen and BBQ so that’s one place you can help. Other ways to help include:
Volunteer duty for all teams
Teams in the U6 – U18 age group can expect to be rostered to carry out BBQ, canteen, set up duty or pack up duty. This duty is not arduous and normally only happens once a year. It is expected that one parent for every child in the team will attend to assist with the duties.
Coaches
Each team at Majura FC requires a coach, and the club is extremely grateful to any parent who volunteers for this important role. Support and coaching courses are available to help coaches develop their skills. Please note that anyone coaching people under 18 years of age must hold a valid WWVP (Working with Vulnerable People) Card. If you do not already have one, you can apply through Access Canberra.
Team managers
Every team also needs a Team Manager to act as a point of contact between the club and the team, and to manage the players and parents. Like coaches, all managers working with people under 18 must have a valid WWVP Card. Applications for a WWVP Card can be made via Access Canberra.
Clubhouse assistance
On game days, the club requires a roster of volunteers to look after the Clubhouse. Duties include taking notes, handing out ice, contacting the First Aid Officer if needed, and occasionally making shop sales.
Shop assistance
During the first half of the season, the shop will be open on game days. Volunteers are needed to help with sales for an hour or two.
Game day set up coordinators
Volunteers are also needed on game days to help coordinate teams rostered on duty with setting up and packing down the fields to ensure matches run smoothly.
