Miniroos have kicked off so what’s next?

Hello Majura Football Families, Just a quick note to say how absolutely wonderful it is to be back on the pitch seeing our kids playing football again. A part of our world is somewhat back to normal. Having said that I want to thank everyone who came to the fields last Saturday for maintaining social distancing and putting up with our new method of queueing for the bbq and canteen (no matter how long you line up, Rhonda's food is always worth it!) We are back again on Saturday with our U5-U9 Miniroos. If you see our club captains David and Charlotte walking around stop them and kick the ball around. We are still planning on a July 18 start for all age groups from U10 up to our Senior teams. They are all out training and very keen to get some game time. Just a friendly reminder to all of our spectators in the interest of safety, can you please watch the game at least a couple of paces off of the sideline. I saw some eager spectators last weekend right up on the sideline and some even spilling onto the pitch. I appreciate the enthusiasm but I would hate to

Information for players and teams at Majura FC in 2018

The Majura trials were hugely competitive this year as we saw returning players who had developed their skills last season and over summer and some new talented players join the Club. We again used Coerver Coaching to assist with trials and run drills and games that would test the four core skills and game skills. This enables selectors to concentrate on the players and give a more thorough assessment of each triallist. This year Olympic FC also provided Premier League coaches to select alongside Majura FC selectors which again improved selector assessments. The team that you have been placed in has been based on a variety of factors including, your performance at the recent trials final recommendations from a minimum of two (2) trial selectors when we needed further confirmation, recommendations from past Coaches a preference to play in a competitive or social division The divisional structure for the U12-18 teams has been changed by Capital Football this year to accommodate the growth in players and teams and to make it easier for participants to understand. For the past five years teams have been placed into either Division 1, 2a/blue, 2b/gold, 3a/blue or 3b/gold. This year the divisions will be just numbers so Divisions 1, 2, 3, 4,

Capital Football Adult Referee Course!

To ensure we have more adult referees in 2018, Capital Football is looking for Adults (18 and over) to attend a Level 4 Referee Course which will be held on Saturday 3rd February 2018 . It will run from 9:00am to 3:00pm and is being held at the Canberra Deakin Sports Club in Deakin. Capital Football needs your support. Parents, carers and friends, players, coaches and managers are encouraged and welcome to undertake the course which will entitle successful candidates to referee juniors (both JPL and community) and adult community league games. The course will include indoor and outdoor elements. We need at least ten participants to make this course worthwhile, so please register soon if you are interested and be part of solving the challenge of recruiting more adult referees for our 2018 season. If you have any questions, please contact Alasdair Grocock on 02 6175 7114  or alasdair.grocock@capitalfootball.com.au WHAT: Adult Refereeing Course WHERE: Canberra Deakin Sports Club, Deakin WHEN: Saturday 3rd February, 9am-3pm COST: $55   Click here to
